Who You Are You are a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer who thrives at the intersection of backend and frontend development, writing high-quality, production-grade code in Kotlin or Python and React, Redux, and TypeScript. You bring strong architectural judgment around distributed systems and relational databases, and you're comfortable owning the design and implementation of scalable, service-oriented APIs and data models. You work well cross-functionally, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and are organized enough to manage complexity while surfacing what matters most. What You’ll Do Write high-quality, production-grade code for backend (Kotlin) and frontend (React, Redux, TypeScript) Design software solutions and contribute directly to their implementation Work cross-functionally with Product, Analytics, and other engineering teams across Affirm Build APIs and data models aligned with the organization's defined service-oriented architecture What You Bring 6+ years of experience as a full stack senior software engineer, working across backend (Python or Kotlin) and frontend Strong understanding of relational database systems and best practices Strong understanding of distributed systems and how architectural decisions impact performance and maintainability Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to surface critical information effectively Nice to Have Experience with AWS and/or other cloud providers

If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one.
