Senior SQL Server Database Administrator

Title: Database Administration Location: 2 Broadway, NYC, NY Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days onsite or as needed Candidate must be in NY/NJ only Role Summary Seeking a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator to design, implement, maintain, tune, and optimize MTA databases, with a strong focus on Microsoft SQL Server and Azure Managed Instance . Key Responsibilities Install, configure, upgrade, migrate, and maintain SQL Server/Azure Managed Instance databases. Perform database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and query optimization. Implement High Availability/Always On , backup, and disaster recovery strategies. Manage database security, patching, and compliance. Support database requirements for application development teams. Develop automation, scripting, procedures, standards, and technical documentation. Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and application teams. Mentor junior database staff and provide technical direction. Required Skills 5+ years hands-on SQL Server DBA experience . Strong expertise in SQL Server, Windows Server, Azure, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Storage, and Azure security . Experience with Always On/High Availability . Strong SQL skills; Python/scripting knowledge preferred. Experience with Oracle and MS-SQL and UNIX/Linux/Windows environments. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. 8+ years supporting databases, operating systems, and IT infrastructure. Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent experience; Microsoft certifications preferred .
