About the Opportunity The Senior Manager, Data Engineering leads a team responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing scalable data engineering and database solutions that support business operations, analytics, and organizational growth. This role drives operational excellence, strengthens team capabilities, and ensures the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of the organization’s data environment. Responsibilities • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers and database administrators while establishing clear expectations, accountability, and performance goals. • Oversee the design, delivery, maintenance, and support of enterprise data platforms and database solutions. • Drive operational excellence through proactive monitoring, performance optimization, automation, and risk reduction. • Manage data quality, governance, service reliability, platform health, and operational performance. • Establish and maintain processes that improve system stability, scalability, and continuous improvement. • Collaborate with engineering, architecture, infrastructure, security, and business teams to deliver reliable data solutions. • Promote engineering best practices, technical excellence, and responsible innovation across the data organization. • Leverage AI-enabled tools responsibly to improve engineering productivity, workflows, and operational effectiveness. Requirements • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or related disciplines, including enterprise-scale data solutions. • 7+ years of experience with SQL, database technologies, and database performance optimization. • 5+ years of experience in people leadership, team development, or technical management. • 5+ years of experience driving operational excellence, service reliability, and system stability. • Proven experience collaborating effectively across technical, operational, and business teams. • At least 2 years of experience using AI-enabled tools responsibly to improve productivity and engineering workflows. • Strong business acumen with excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. • Familiarity with modern data engineering and platform technologies. • Knowledge of platform engineering, disaster recovery, business continuity, and technology modernization. • Experience working in the healthcare industry. Education • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Pay Range and Compensation Package • Typical annual salary range of $106,605 to $260,590 . • Eligibility for bonus, commission, or short-term incentive compensation, depending on role and performance. • Participation in an equity award program. .
