OUR CLIENT A leading FMCG business with a strong footprint, diversified product portfolio, and extensive distribution network. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Procurement Strategy and Strategic Sourcing Lead the company’s procurement strategy across major direct and indirect spend categories. Develop category strategies aligned with business needs, market conditions, and total cost of ownership. Manage end-to-end sourcing activities, including tenders, supplier evaluation, negotiation, selection, and contracting. Consolidate purchasing volumes and leverage the company’s scale to secure more competitive commercial terms. Create sourcing strategies that effectively balance cost, quality, service levels, and supply continuity. 2. Raw Material and Supply Management Ensure the reliable availability of essential raw materials and other inputs required for farming and manufacturing operations. Monitor commodity trends, pricing movements, and supply-and-demand conditions. Develop alternative sourcing scenarios and contingency plans for materials exposed to volatility or supply constraints. Collaborate with Planning and Operations to align purchasing decisions with demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production plans. Determine the most effective sourcing mix between local and imported supply, as well as strategic contracts and spot purchasing. Maintain supply continuity while controlling excess inventory and working-capital exposure. 3. Cost and Margin Optimization Establish and deliver annual procurement savings and COGS improvement targets. Identify cost-saving opportunities through negotiation, specification improvement, supplier consolidation, alternative sourcing, and demand management. Develop should-cost models and data-driven negotiation strategies for major categories. Improve purchasing economics through volume consolidation and long-term supplier agreements. Work with Finance to validate procurement savings and ensure they are accurately reflected in the company’s P&L. 4. Supplier Performance and Development Build a strategic supplier network capable of supporting the company’s growth plans. Categorize suppliers according to spend, strategic importance, performance, and supply risk. Implement supplier performance management across cost, quality, delivery, and service. Establish alternative and backup supply sources for business-critical categories. Lead supplier-development programs and joint productivity initiatives. Monitor supplier risk and ensure compliance with the company’s quality, food-safety, governance, and ethical standards. 5. Procurement Excellence and Digitalization Standardize and streamline procurement processes across the organization. Improve spend visibility, category analytics, and procurement-performance reporting. Strengthen procurement planning and its integration with S&OP and supply-planning processes. Apply digital tools and data analytics to improve sourcing decisions, expenditure control, and supplier management. Establish clear procurement policies, approval authorities, governance standards, and compliance controls. Define procurement KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews. 6. Leadership and Business Partnership Build, develop, and lead a high-performing procurement team. Partner closely with Operations, Farming, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, R&D, Quality, and Finance. Provide market intelligence and sourcing insights to support strategic business decisions. Strengthen team capabilities in category management, negotiation, analytics, and supplier management. Serve as a key member of the Operations and Supply Chain leadership team. REQUIREMENTS At least 12–15 years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Supply Management, including substantial leadership responsibility. Strong experience managing large-scale and complex direct-material expenditure. Proven success in strategic sourcing, category management, supplier negotiation, and cost optimization. Strong knowledge of commodity markets and supply-risk management. Experience aligning procurement strategies with manufacturing, planning, operational, and broader business priorities. Strong commercial and financial understanding, particularly in relation to COGS, working capital, and P&L impact. Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and strengthen procurement teams.
