Piping Engineer 📍 Location: Coimbatore 💼 Experience: 6+ Years 🎓 Qualification: B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering 🏭 Industry: Oil & Gas / EPC / Facilities Engineering Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Piping Engineer / Piping Engineering Team Lead to handle piping design and layout activities for Oil & Gas projects. The role involves piping engineering, 3D modelling, design review, interdisciplinary coordination, vendor coordination and supporting project execution while ensuring compliance with applicable engineering codes, standards, quality, schedule and budget requirements. Key Responsibilities Perform piping engineering, design and layout activities for Oil & Gas projects. Develop and review equipment layouts, piping layouts, plot plans, piping isometrics and general arrangement drawings . Work in 3D E3D / PDMS environment for piping modelling and design. Review 3D models and piping drawings/documents, including IDC deliverables. Ensure piping designs comply with project specifications, applicable codes and engineering standards. Review piping specifications, line lists, valve data sheets and piping engineering documents. Prepare and review Piping BOM, Valve List and Piping Specialty List . Review piping materials and support requirements. Review vendor drawings and coordinate vendor-supplied information into project drawings. Review and support stress analysis reports , identify stress-related design issues and ensure isometrics are updated accordingly. Coordinate piping loads and stress inputs with the Civil/Structural Engineering team. Identify layout feasibility issues and resolve piping design irregularities. Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation and other engineering disciplines. Coordinate with vendors, contractors and suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery. Lead small to medium-sized piping proposals/projects as required. Review client specifications and support proposal/tender activities. Participate in project meetings, design reviews and coordination activities with stakeholders. Support technical evaluations, feasibility studies and risk assessments for piping systems. Monitor piping deliverables to ensure on-time delivery (OTD) . Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets and quality requirements. Support site activities, inspections and troubleshooting related to piping installations. Support construction and project execution activities when required. Participate in internal project audits, design reviews and model reviews. Prepare and review piping discipline standardization documents. Support HSSE requirements and maintain a safe working environment. Willingness to travel based on project and business requirements. Required Experience 6+ years of relevant experience in Piping Engineering / Piping Design. Strong experience in Oil & Gas industry . Experience in Facilities Engineering and Construction is preferred. Strong understanding of piping layout and piping design. Experience in Piping Supports and Piping Stress coordination . Experience in 3D piping modelling and model review. Candidates with experience leading small to medium-sized projects/proposals will be preferred.
