Job Title: Systems Administrator (Infor XA ERP & IBM i) Are you an experienced Infor XA (MAPICS) expert looking to make a significant impact in a growing manufacturing organization? We are seeking a hands-on ERP and IBM i professional to own the health, performance, and continuous improvement of a business-critical Infor XA environment supporting a rapidly expanding manufacturing operation. Pay rate: salary range 125K+. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Please Note: U.S. work authorization is required. This role offers the unique opportunity to become the internal subject matter expert and owner of the Infor XA ERP ecosystem, reducing reliance on external consultants while driving operational excellence across finance, manufacturing, inventory, purchasing, and shipping functions. Reporting to senior leadership within the Finance/IT organization, this individual will work closely with plant operations, finance teams, and business stakeholders to ensure system reliability, data integrity, reporting effectiveness, and process improvement. Position Summary The Infor XA ERP & IBM i Systems Administrator will be responsible for the administration, support, optimization, and continuous improvement of the company's Infor XA (formerly MAPICS) ERP platform running on IBM i (AS/400, iSeries, Power Systems). This is a highly visible, business-facing role requiring expertise across ERP administration, manufacturing processes, finance and costing functions, IBM i system operations, reporting, data integrations, and user support. The ideal candidate is a self-directed problem solver who enjoys wearing multiple hats and can confidently move between technical administration, business analysis, reporting, and operational support. Key Responsibilities Infor XA ERP Administration Serve as the primary owner of the Infor XA (MAPICS) ERP environment. Maintain overall system health, performance, security, and availability. Administer XA environments, PowerLink/NetLink, and Link Manager configurations. Manage user access, roles, permissions, and security settings. Support and troubleshoot ERP-related issues across business functions. Monitor host jobs, background processing, and Transaction Broker operations. Coordinate software updates, testing, and deployments. IBM i (AS/400) System Administration Monitor system health, performance, storage utilization, and message queues. Manage user profiles, security settings, and system authorities. Perform backup, recovery, and business continuity administration. Coordinate system upgrades, maintenance, and vendor support activities. Troubleshoot system issues including job failures, record locks, and printing problems. Finance, Costing & Business Process Support Support financial reporting, product costing, cost rollups, and variance analysis. Partner with finance teams to improve reporting accuracy and visibility. Serve as a trusted advisor for ERP-related finance processes and controls. Manufacturing & Supply Chain Support Support: Product Data Management (PDM/EPDM) Inventory Management Manufacturing Orders MRP/MPS Planning Purchasing Order Management Shipping and Invoicing Act as a liaison between IT and operational teams to resolve system issues and improve processes. Reporting, Data & Integrations Develop SQL and DB2 for i queries, reports, dashboards, and data extracts. Support automated reporting and scheduled jobs. Manage integrations utilizing ODBC/JDBC, System Link, and EDI processes. Validate data integrity and ensure reporting accuracy. Vendor & Project Coordination Manage relationships with Infor support and external consultants. Lead issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and maintain system documentation, procedures, and knowledge repositories. Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization. Required Qualifications 7+ years of hands-on experience supporting ERP systems on IBM i / AS400 platforms. Direct experience with Infor XA (MAPICS) administration and support. Strong knowledge of finance, reporting, financial processes, and product costing within Infor XA. Experience supporting manufacturing and distribution business processes. IBM i / Power Systems administration experience including security, backups, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Proficiency with SQL and DB2 for i reporting and data analysis. Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Infor XA EPDM and System Link Toolkit (SLTK). RPG/CL programming knowledge and ability to support existing custom applications. Experience with cycle counting, costing, MRP/MPS, and EDI environments. Python or other automation/scripting experience.
