Role Description An Oracle Developer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing Oracle-based database applications and enterprise solutions. The role focuses on SQL and PL/SQL development, database architecture, application integration, data management, performance optimization, and delivering scalable technology solutions that support business operations. Key responsibilities include designing and developing Oracle databases, schemas, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and other database objects; writing, testing, debugging, and optimizing SQL and PL/SQL code; translating business and technical requirements into efficient database and application solutions; designing data models, relationships, constraints, and database structures; performing query optimization, execution-plan analysis, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning; developing data migration, transformation, synchronization, and integration processes; integrating Oracle databases with enterprise applications, APIs, web services, cloud platforms, and third-party systems; working with Oracle Database, Oracle APEX, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Oracle Fusion, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and related technologies where applicable; developing automated scripts, scheduled jobs, and database processes; troubleshooting database errors, application issues, performance problems, data inconsistencies, and integration failures; implementing database security, access controls, data integrity, backup, recovery, and governance procedures; supporting database upgrades, patches, migrations, deployments, and modernization initiatives; developing testing procedures and validating database functionality and application integrations; preparing technical documentation, database specifications, data dictionaries, deployment procedures, and system documentation; collaborating with software developers, database administrators, system architects, business analysts, DevOps engineers, QA teams, data engineers, and business stakeholders; supporting production deployments, incident resolution, change management, and system maintenance; monitoring database performance, availability, storage, and resource utilization; utilizing cloud technologies, automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics to improve database development and operational efficiency; supporting reporting, business intelligence, and enterprise data initiatives; identifying opportunities to improve application scalability, database performance, automation, reliability, and cost efficiency; ensuring solutions comply with security standards, development practices, data-governance requirements, and organizational policies; and continuously improving Oracle development processes, database performance, application reliability, and technical quality. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. Strong knowledge of Oracle Database, SQL, and PL/SQL. Strong understanding of relational databases, data modeling, normalization, indexing, transactions, constraints, and database architecture. Ability to develop stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, views, and complex SQL queries. Strong knowledge of query optimization, execution plans, indexing strategies, partitioning, and database performance tuning. Familiarity with Oracle APEX, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Oracle Fusion, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or related Oracle technologies is advantageous. Knowledge of REST APIs, web services, ETL/ELT processes, data migration, and enterprise application integration is beneficial. Familiarity with Java, Python, JavaScript, or other programming languages used with Oracle-based applications is advantageous. Strong understanding of database security, authentication, authorization, backup, recovery, and data-integrity principles. Familiarity with cloud databases, Docker, CI/CD, DevOps, Git, and automated deployment practices is beneficial. Knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, automation, data analytics, and cloud-native technologies is advantageous. Strong debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to translate business and technical requirements into scalable database and application solutions. Strong communication, documentation, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills. Ability to work effectively with developers, DBAs, architects, analysts, QA teams, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders. Strong understanding of software-development lifecycle, testing, deployment, change management, and production-support practices. High attention to detail, data accuracy, system security, performance, reliability, and code quality. Oracle, database, cloud, or relevant professional certifications are advantageous. High level of adaptability, accountability, technical curiosity, and professionalism. Strong commitment to continuous learning and staying informed about Oracle technologies, cloud databases, AI-assisted development, database automation, data engineering, and modern enterprise application practices.
