As a COBOL Developer, you will maintain and modernize mission-critical applications on IBM mainframe systems. You will serve as a key technical resource for ensuring the stability and evolution of core business logic within large-scale enterprise environments. What You'll Do Design, code, test, and debug COBOL programs for both batch and online CICS processing. Maintain and optimize data access using DB2, VSAM, and JCL to ensure high performance and data integrity. Analyze existing legacy code and documentation to identify modernization opportunities and refactoring needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mainframe applications with contemporary cloud-native architectures. Provide expert production support, including root-cause analysis and remediation for mission-critical systems. Participate in Agile ceremonies to deliver high-quality software updates and contribute to engineering standards. What We Are Looking For 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering with a focus on mainframe environments. Proven expertise in developing and maintaining applications using COBOL, CICS, and DB2. Strong proficiency in JCL, VSAM, and mainframe batch/online processing. Hands-on experience with IBM mainframe systems within banking, insurance, or government sectors.
