What will you do: As a Service Engineer you are responsible for carrying out implementation projects independently or as part of a project group. The role involves daily interaction with customers and their automation systems. Project activities vary from system design and engineering to commissioning, training, troubleshooting and, and on-going technical support. You will work closely with both Siemens and customer OT and IT teams to ensure successful project delivery and service execution. Active coordination of activities and effective communication with stakeholders are an essential part of the role. To succeed in this position, you should have a basic understanding of Siemens automation technologies and TIA Portal. Equally important is your ability to learn quickly, adapt to new technologies, and work with a variety of industrial systems. We are looking for someone who is curious, motivated, and eager to continuously develop their technical expertise. You will work as a part of Service Operations team, consisting of experienced OT and IT specialists, delivering services to industrial customers across Finland. In this role, you will contribute to service contract deliveries, support your colleagues, and play an important part in ensuring high-quality customer service. Requirements: Experience in implementation projects and customer work in Finnish industry Basic knowledge of Siemens technology and TIA Portal Proven ability to work independently in customer support and troubleshooting situations, both remotely and at customer sites. Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to consider business, operational, and technical perspectives Service mindset - in case a customer case requires, you do not hesitate to serve customers in cross-border projects in both English and Finnish Bachelor / Master’s Degree in technology or industrial automation or equivalent You speak fluent Finnish and English Residence in Finland is required. Preferred location Espoo or Tampere. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
