Purpose As part of GCFT (Global Corporate Functions Technology), Global Operations Technology team supports the banks Collections and Fraud Department’s projects, tooling and operations. The Cloud Software Engineering Specialist role will be responsible for the building, tunning and maintaining Azure and GCP applications to support the needs of Collections business partners. This consists of developing process automation and data integration solutions as well as delivery of new projects. Accountabilities Design: Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-based applications using mainly Azure services as well as Google Cloud Platform tools. Azure Cloud Application Development: Design, build and implement solutions around standard Azure services like Azure Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure functions and SQL Managed Instance etc. Application Development: Develop and maintain Azure Data Factory and Synapse data integration pipelines including data flows, linked services, data sets and triggers. Develop and modify SQL Server MI stored procedures and functions. Develop and maintain Azure custom functions. Release Control Management: Build and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Azure DevOps, GitHub or Terraform. Quality Assurance: Ensure high quality and reliability of application delivered to the end users. Implement error checks, notifications and other techniques for early issue detection. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor and optimize the performance, security and cost-efficiency of cloud solutions and adhere to the Enterprise Architecture standards. Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues. Incident Management: Provide support during major and minor incidents. Follow standard incident response and user communication processes. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement cloud architecture and best practises. Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure and GCP technologies and industry trends Education / Experience / Other Information 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud platform 4+ years of experience developing ADF (Azure Data Factory) or Synapse pipelines 4+ years of experience with SQL Server and SSIS Comprehensive understanding of software development lifecycle and release process Experience with the use of CI/CD tools In-depth understanding of different database technologies (relational, OLAP, NoSQL) Knowledge of different programming and scripting languages (Python, PySpark, Bash) Team player with effective verbal and written communication skills Result oriented, curios, ability to work independently with the sense of ownership A degree in Science, Engineering or relevant. Any Azure or GCP certification will be considered an asset Monitor technology currency and platform health, assess software vulnerabilities and end-of-support risks, and work with business, compliance, infrastructure, and application teams to plan, prioritize, test, and implement required remediation activities. Troubleshoot production issues and support operational stability. Monitor data pipeline performance and implement improvements. Support deployments, testing, and release activities. Assist with documentation and knowledge transfer. Work with business and technology teams to deliver small enhancements and maintenance requests. Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
