Do you want full ownership of a company's technology backbone? We're looking for someone to become the linchpin of our IT operation: the person who knows every corner of our infrastructure, from the cloud down to the last network switch. If you're someone who enjoys understanding the full picture — identity, endpoints, virtualization, backups, and networking — and would rather act with autonomy than wait for instructions, this role is for you. You'll be the technical owner of our cloud applications (including Microsoft 365), our fleet of devices (Windows and Mac), and our office network, including firewalls and local storage. You'll work closely with our security and technical support team, reporting directly to technology leadership in the U.S. This role also offers a clear path to grow into a technical leadership position. The areas where your expertise will make the biggest difference: vulnerability management and patching, backup & recovery, wireless networks, and Microsoft 365. What you'll do Lead vulnerability assessment and patching cycles alongside our security expert in Boston — not just executing what vendors recommend, but applying independent judgment to question and adjust their recommendations. Manage the full device lifecycle for corporate devices through MDM platforms. Ensure our backups and disaster recovery plans meet data integrity, retention, and RTO/RPO objectives. Fine-tune the performance and availability of our virtualization platforms. Keep our enterprise wireless network running with the coverage, speed, and security the business needs. Configure and monitor enterprise-grade switching and firewall policies. Serve as the go-to expert for the Microsoft ecosystem: 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, Windows Server, and Active Directory. Use ITSM tools to keep tickets, changes, and SLA compliance organized. Keep everything documented — clear runbooks that make sure knowledge doesn't live in just one person's head. Collaborate closely with the security and support teams so the entire IT stack runs consistently. Be available within the on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays when planned maintenance or incidents come up. What you'll bring Hands-on experience with vulnerability management and patching tools (Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, ManageEngine Patch Manager, or similar). We're not looking for deep tool-specific expertise, but for someone who can operate, propose, and validate with independent judgment. Experience with MDM platforms (Intune, Jamf, Kandji, Workspace ONE, or similar). Experience with enterprise backup & recovery solutions (Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, Veritas, or similar) — Veeam is a plus. Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Nutanix, Proxmox, or similar) — VMware is a plus. Experience with enterprise wireless networking (Meraki, Aruba, Ubiquiti, Fortinet, or similar) — Cisco Meraki is a plus. Enterprise-grade switching and firewalls. Strong command of the Microsoft ecosystem: 365, Azure AD/Entra ID, Intune, Windows Server, and Active Directory. Experience with ITSM tools (ManageEngine ServiceDesk, ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or similar). Nice to have VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP) or Microsoft certifications (AZ-104, MS-102). Cisco networking experience or Meraki certifications. Knowledge of ITIL or a similar framework. Prior experience in bilingual environments (Colombia–U.S. or Latin America). Interest in growing into a technical leadership role. Position Details Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) Work Model: Hybrid (4 days on-site / 1 day remote) – Medellín Contract Type: Permanent (Indefinite-term contract) English Level: Full professional proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate fluently on technical topics Benefits: 100% employer-covered private health insurance Education and training bonus Strong focus on work-life balance and employee well-being Parking Experience: 5+ years of hands-on infrastructure administration experience in enterprise environments, with demonstrated ownership of complex, multi-layered IT stacks. Salary: Up to $10,000,000 COP, based on expertise and experience level.

Here's how to pick the right one and stand out in your application.

144.883Jobs
31.687IN

That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
