Learn more at geniussports.com The Role – Software Engineer (Fan Engagement) We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our Fan Engagement team and contribute to the development and maintenance of software that enhances how sports are experienced. In this role, you’ll work independently, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and help improve the quality and maintainability of our systems. You’ll play an active role in delivering value to users while continuing to grow your technical and collaborative skills. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, test, and maintain features and components with a focus on quality and reliability Produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that aligns with team standards Participate in system and component design discussions, contributing ideas and asking thoughtful questions Debug and resolve issues across the stack, with guidance as needed Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver user-centered solutions Contribute to code reviews by giving and incorporating constructive feedback Identify opportunities to improve code quality, performance, and team development practices Support team goals by communicating clearly about progress, blockers, and trade-offs Qualifications: Experience developing professional web apps and familiarity with modern development frameworks Understanding of software development fundamentals (e.g., data structures, APIs, testing, version control) Ability to work independently on defined tasks while seeking input when needed Comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teammates and incorporating feedback Problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and iterate Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ReactJS and NodeJS Experience with Kotlin, or Spring a bonus Experience contributing to the design of systems or features Familiarity with debugging and performance optimization techniques Experience writing automated tests and working with CI/CD pipelines We enjoy an ‘office-first’ culture and maximize opportunities to collaborate, connect and learn together. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
