About The Role Build, maintain, and improve our internal cloud platform and infrastructure to provide reliable, scalable services for engineering teams. Develop automation and internal tooling using Python or Go to simplify operational tasks and improve developer experience. Manage and improve cloud infrastructure running on public cloud platforms (primarily Google Cloud Platform). Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and reusable platform components. Support internal engineering teams with infrastructure-related challenges and platform adoption. Participate in improving platform reliability, observability, monitoring, and incident response. Contribute to security, compliance (SOX/SOC2), and operational excellence initiatives. Participate in an on-call rotation and continuously improve platform stability and operational processes. About You Move together. Raise the bar. Learn fast—grow faster. That’s the default. And here’s what else is needed to succeed in this role: 5+ years of commercial experience in Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a similar role. Strong production experience with at least one public cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure). Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, and modern cloud infrastructure. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar) and CI/CD pipelines. Practical programming experience with Python or Go for automation and internal tooling. Strong troubleshooting skills and experience working with production infrastructure. Ownership mindset, curiosity, and willingness to work across different infrastructure domains. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineering teams. Not Required, But a Plus Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Experience with tools such as Terraform, Helm, Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, Renovate, or similar platform technologies. Experience with observability tools (Grafana, VictoriaMetrics, Splunk, Prometheus, etc.). Experience supporting internal developer platforms or self-service infrastructure. Familiarity with cloud security, compliance (SOX/SOC2), or infrastructure governance. Interest in using AI to improve engineering productivity and platform automation. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
