Job Summary: Provides technical leadership of the plan, design, development of software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products. Job Responsibilities: - Independently designs, develops, tests and delivers high quality software/solutions. Provides direct estimates, such as time, percentage of project completion, etc. to lead and/or manager. - Researches and resolves reported systems software problems efficiently and accurately while adhering to internal software management standards and procedures. - Coordinates the technical work of a small project team. Plans and schedules tasks for projects and individuals. - Maintains detail knowledge of software, underlying network and system software, and dependencies. - Provides guidance and subject matter expertise to the development organization. - Perform other duties as assigned - Understand and adhere to all corporate policies to include but not limited to the ACI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. Knowledge, Skills and Experience required for the job: - Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent software development experience. - 5 years software development experience. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed for the job: Work Environment: - Standard Work Environment - Majority time spent on PC (Phys. Req.) - Travel required, may be domestic or international

If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
