Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Outdoors. At heights. Confined spaces. Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Work setting: Industrial. Manufacture. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment. Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines. Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC). Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Technical Standards Safety Authority (TSSA) Certification. Type of materials: Aluminum alloys. Composite materials. Stainless steel. Steel, iron and heavy metals. Welding techniques: Resistance, spot or seam. Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Equipment and machinery experience: Spot welding machine. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication. Factory assembly. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). More than 45 kg (100 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Safety glasses/goggles. Gloves. Welding helmet. Personal suitability: Client focus. Flexibility. Organized. Team player. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years. Employment terms options: Morning. Day. Overtime available. Support for newcomers and refugees: Does not require Canadian work experience. Support for youths: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth. Support for Indigenous people: Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers .
