We provide solutions to a variety of industries: automotive, industrial, alternate energy, electronic and aerospace. *Position Summary* The Production Welder position responsibilities include, but is not limited to production welding, service & repair welding, and fabricating metal structures using jigs/fixtures in a fast-paced production environment. The use of various hand tools, machinery and equipment will be required to manufacture metal products. This position will work with Group Leaders and Lead Hands to ensure continuous improvements in work cells, hitting quotas, welding according to pre-set parameters using MIG welding processes. Additionally, in some cases the Production Welder will be required to read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions. *Responsibilities* * Fabrication of metal structures using jigs and fixtures in a high paced production environment. * Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as MIG or plasma arc welding, oxy-acetylene welding * Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment * Operate metal shaping machines such as metal straightening and bending machines * Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits * Perform random maintenance on returned products to be refurbished or re-worked to customer specifications * Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and PakFab policies * Other duties as assigned *Requirements* * High School Diploma, GED or equivalent * 1+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment * Preferably possess a valid driver?s license * Strong knowledge and skill in operating metalworking machinery * Read and understand production drawings, blueprints, and work orders * Experience with routine maintenance operations. * Ability to work independently in a busy environment, highly flexible, attention to detail and able to work well under pressure * Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment. * Strong work ethic and positive team attitude * Able to effectively communicate verbally * Knowledge of safe lifting and handling techniques *Work Conditions* * Use of personal protection equipment will be required * Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in conditions that include heat and humidity, and exposure to dust * Hazards associated with the industry *Why Join Us?* * Straight Dayshift: 7AM - 5PM * Employer paid benefits upon starting * RRSP matching program * Opportunity to work for a growing company with room for advancement * Clean weld shop * Employer paid uniform program and safety boot allowances * Workplace events _PakFab Engineered Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
