At the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), a federal government organization, our team of veterinarians play an important role in Canadian food safety and animal health.By working for Canada's largest science-based regulator, you'll directly contribute to safeguarding people, animals, and our food supply.Responsibilities may include working in slaughter establishments performing ante-mortem and post-mortem inspection of animals, export inspections of animals, providing consultation services to inspection staff, stakeholders and other government organizations; training of inspection personnel and new veterinarians; and compiling and maintaining reports for management; ensuring compliance with regulations and ensuring humane transport of animals in accordance with international standards and regulations.
