GumGum is looking for a Vice President of Sales who will be instrumental in spearheading GumGum's market-leading contextual advertising platform across Central territories (Chicago, Detroit, and Ohio). Reporting directly to the SVP of Sales, this pivotal executive role requires a proven leader in the online media landscape capable of driving substantial revenue growth, cultivating high-performing teams, and building deep relationships across the advertising community. The ideal candidate brings deep ad-tech ecosystem expertise, strong coaching skills, and the strategic foresight to expand client investments across our media solutions. Note: This position offers the opportunity for remote work or 'work from home' as there isn't a nearby office. However, GumGum is excited to only consider applicants residing in the local area listed in the job description for business needs including some or all of the following: client interaction, team interaction, timezone, etc. What You'll Achieve Own revenue for GumGum's Central region — Chicago, Detroit, and Ohio — and consistently exceed target with year-over-year growth. Lead and grow a team of 4–8 sellers, building an inclusive, results-oriented culture where people do their best work. Recruit, onboard, and develop top sales talent, coaching each seller toward stronger individual and team performance. Translate regional strategy into ambitious, actionable goals, then coach your team on the account-based plays that hit them. Build deep relationships with senior brand and agency decision-makers, becoming a trusted advisor on their business. Expand existing client investment by upselling GumGum's In-image, In-video, and broader media solutions. Drive new business through proactive prospecting and qualification across the region's highest-value verticals. Partner with the North American Leadership Team on strategic growth initiatives, and carry client insight back to Product. Skills You'll Bring A bachelor's degree in media, marketing, or advertising. 10+ years selling digital advertising, with a documented track record of hitting or exceeding sales targets. Experience leading a team against a large book of business ($15M+), with proven results coaching sellers to improve. An established, active network of brand and agency contacts across the Chicago, Detroit, and Ohio markets. Deep ad-tech ecosystem fluency and the agility to adapt as the media landscape shifts. Strong command of Salesforce, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word; you use Seller Crowd and follow the trades for account news. Superb written and verbal communication, with the executive presence to build strategic client relationships. Sharp analytical judgment — you read the data, understand business drivers (P&L, COGS, revenue), and solve problems fast. What We Offer At GumGum, competitive base pay is a part of a total rewards package which also includes benefits, an emphasis on recognition, development, and wellness. The reasonable estimated OTE pay range (base + commission) for this role is from $456,000 - $521,000 . The actual amount may be higher or lower. Individual compensation will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant qualifications, work location, and labor market conditions. The total rewards package offered also includes an employer-matched 401(k) retirement plan, and depending on the role, participation in a bonus, commission, or stock incentive program.
