About the team The Global Payments Experiences group is an organization focused on bringing new and novel payment methods to Stripe, and ensuring Stripe’s systems work well for merchants globally. This team works with internal and external partners to expand regional, non-card payment options, and to expand the use of Stripe’s payments processing globally. What you’ll do This is a Sao Paulo-based team, with platform teams in the US and Europe and sister teams worldwide. This team in particular will build and maintain new payment methods for Stripe, with a focus on LATAM and North America. They will manage local market idiosyncrasies, become regional experts that other Stripe teams will rely on, and partner with many non-tech functions at Stripe to expand our global reach and product portfolio. Responsibilities Design and reason about integration experiences with a strong focus on end-user simplicity and developer experience Build back-end services and integrations across solutions across Stripe’s payments product Engage and interact with external partners to determine and build technical solutions Engage directly with users to understand their business needs and translate requirements into concrete solutions Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, partnerships, eng platforms, and other engineering teams to deliver these solutions Contribute to software platforms used across payments at Stripe Who you are We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement. Minimum requirements 2+ years of backend engineering experience Strong command of verbal and written English language Experience working across geographies Experience building extensible, leveraged software solutions that scale to different kinds of user needs, with the ability to empathize with users and advocate for exceptional user experiences Preferred qualifications Previous experiences working in payments and on payments technology Previous experience using Stripe products

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
