People Development & Talent Specialist Location: Ceres, Western Cape Employment Type: Permanent Industry: Agriculture About the Role An established organisation in the agricultural sector is seeking a dynamic and people-focused People Development & Talent Specialist to support its talent strategy and workforce development initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in attracting emerging talent, developing talent pipelines, coordinating learning and development programmes, and supporting the growth and progression of employees across the organisation. The position is suited to an HR professional who combines strong recruitment and relationship-building capabilities with an understanding of learning and development, talent management, skills development and HR analytics . Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will: Build and maintain relationships with universities, TVET colleges, agricultural colleges, schools and other educational institutions. Identify and develop talent pipelines for graduates, interns, apprentices, learners and young professionals. Coordinate internships, WIL placements, learnerships, graduate programmes, apprenticeships and bursaries. Support recruitment activities, including candidate sourcing, screening, interview coordination, reference checks and placements. Coordinate internal and external learning and development programmes. Assist with Training Needs Analyses and individual development plans. Work with managers to identify current and future critical skills requirements. Support succession planning, talent identification and career-development initiatives. Coordinate Skills Development programmes and maintain accurate training records. Assist with WSP, ATR, SETA and Employment Equity processes. Prepare recruitment, learning and development reports and monitor HR KPIs. Use Excel, HRIS platforms, recruitment systems and digital/AI tools to improve HR processes and reporting. Monitor the progress and development of interns, graduates, learners and other early-career participants. Contribute to employee engagement, retention, wellbeing and development initiatives. Minimum Requirements The ideal candidate will have: A Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Human Resource Development, Organisational Development or a related field. 3–5 years' relevant experience in Talent Acquisition, Recruitment, Learning & Development or HR. Practical experience coordinating learning and development programmes. Experience using HR information systems and recruitment platforms. Strong Excel, reporting and HR data-analysis skills. Practical knowledge of South African labour and employment legislation. Excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills. Advantageous Registration as a Psychometrist. SDF, Assessor or Moderator qualification. Experience with SETA and Skills Development processes. Experience in agriculture, FMCG, manufacturing, logistics, food production or other operational/multi-site environments. Recruitment, interviewing or psychometric assessment experience. Experience using AI and digital tools to improve HR processes.
