We are seeking an experienced PHP Developer to join our Revenue Systems [Email Address Removed] role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of a mature PHP-based platform that underpins our consumer-facing and operational products. Initially, you will lead a structured knowledge transfer from external partners, ensuring deep familiarity with the system architecture, integrations, and data models. As the internal technical authority, you will be responsible for the platform’s stability, security, and evolution. Beyond maintenance, you will contribute to feature development, database optimisation, and API integrations. Over time, you will play a key role in building Syntell’s internal engineering capability, mentoring new developers, and championing best practices across the team. Requirements Proficiency in modern PHP (8.0+). Strong knowledge of Laravel and/or Symfony frameworks. Solid experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL: schema design, query optimisation, indexing, and ORMs (Eloquent/Doctrine). Expertise in building and consuming RESTful APIs, with secure authentication (OAuth2, API keys, JWT). Proficiency with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines. Ability to work within Agile/Scrum frameworks and onboard into complex, legacy codebases. Experience 5+ years of commercial PHP development experience, with a proven track record of delivering and evolving production systems. Hands-on experience maintaining and modernising legacy codebases. Strong background in application monitoring, performance optimisation, and incident resolution. Experience collaborating with product and delivery teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
