Foundation Phase Teachers (Grades R-3) - Co-Teaching Model Are you passionate about shaping the future of early childhood education by fostering curiosity, creativity, and enquiry? We are seeking experienced Foundation Phase teachers to contribute to a dynamic, flexible learning environment designed to inspire young minds and build a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Duties: Co-teaching in Foundation Phase classes with shared responsibility for planning, delivery, assessment, and pastoral care Managing and facilitating learning in flexible, open Learning Hubs and Enquiry Studios Implementing enquiry-based, experiential, and play-based learning strategies Creating a collaborative classroom environment that encourages curiosity, questioning, and child-led exploration Building strong relationships with young children and supporting their development Participating in ongoing professional development and contributing to the development of a future-focused educational model Requirements: Bachelor of Education (Foundation Phase) or equivalent, with current SACE registration 2-5 years of proven classroom teaching experience in the Foundation Phase (Grades R-3) Demonstrated experience with CAPS curriculum and enquiry-based Foundation Phase pedagogies and child development knowledge Skilled in early literacy and numeracy instruction, classroom management, and learner support strategies Confident in integrating technology into teaching and learning Strong planning, lesson design, and curriculum development skills Experience using structured literacy programmes, read-aloud methodologies, and story-based learning approaches Familiarity with integrated assessment and observation strategies Familiarity with the following: Experience working in flexible learning environments Use of enquiry-driven and experiential learning methodologies Desired Skills: Teaching Lesson Planning Classroom Management Learning support Behavior Management Foundation Phase Desired Work Experience: 2 to 5 years Desired Qualification Level & Accreditations: Degree South African Council for Educators About The Employer: A private school reimagining education through technology, wellbeing and creativity. Teaching takes place in flexible Learning Hubs and Enquiry Studios rather than traditional classrooms, with co-teaching partnerships supporting hands-on, enquiry-driven learning within a CAPS-based curriculum. The school has a collaborative, high-trust staff culture. From January 2027, it is opening a new Foundation Phase in Sandton and is looking for experienced teachers for Grades R to 3.
