Location: Geelong, Victoria Employer: Godfrey Hirst Australia Pty Ltd trading as Godfrey Hirst Employment type: Full time, 37.5 hours per week Salary offered AUD: 110,000.00 per year plus superannuation Main Responsibilities • Process journals and assist with month-end accounting, financial reports and management accounts. • Complete general ledger, payroll, intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations. • Assist with BAS, FBT, payroll tax and other taxation compliance obligations. • Support year-end accounting, statutory reporting and internal and external audits. • Assist with annual budgets, company tax returns and finance-related projects. • Support inventory reporting, stocktakes and monthly factory results. • Review financial results, investigate variances and assist departmental managers with accounting matters. • Maintain accurate financial records and comply with relevant legislation, company policies and reporting requirements. • Provide general accounting support to Godfrey Hirst and its subsidiaries. Skills and Experience Required for the Role • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, commerce or a related discipline. • A minimum of three years of relevant full-time work experience in financial accounting or a closely related role. • CPA or CA qualification, or progress towards either qualification, will be highly regarded. • Experience with month-end processing, financial reporting and account reconciliations. • Knowledge of GST, BAS, FBT, payroll tax and other Australian compliance requirements. • Experience within a manufacturing environment and an understanding of inventory or cost accounting will be advantageous. • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills. • Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
