We manufacture a broad range of plastic packaging solutions right here in NSW Northern Rivers factory in Bangalow. As a result of the growing demand for Australian made products, we're currently recruiting a Plastics Technician To be considered for the role you need to have a relevant industry qualification or at least 2 years' experience in a similar position. Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for: -Programming, setting up, operating and maintaining plastic processing machinery used in injection moulding, extrusion and blow moulding operations. -Inspecting, calibrating, regulating and troubleshooting production equipment to ensure efficient manufacturing performance. -Monitoring production output and conducting routine quality control inspections to ensure products meet company and customer specifications. -Preparing and coordinating production and preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and maximise productivity. -Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency, product quality and operational performance. -Reading and interpreting technical drawings, production specifications and work instructions. -Coordinating production workflow and maintaining accurate production and operational records. -Assisting with the installation, commissioning and optimisation of new production equipment. -Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety policies, environmental standards and quality management procedures. -Working collaboratively with supervisors and production staff to achieve daily manufacturing targets and continuous improvement objectives. Skills and Experience The successful applicant will demonstrate: -Experience operating plastic processing machinery, including injection moulding, extrusion and blow moulding equipment. -Sound knowledge of polymers, plastic materials and manufacturing processes. -Ability to programme, adjust, troubleshoot and maintain production machinery. -Experience interpreting technical drawings, specifications and production requirements. -Strong understanding of quality assurance procedures and production standards. -Ability to identify process improvements to increase productivity and manufacturing efficiency. -Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. -Forklift licence (desirable but not essential).
