Job Title: Platform Engineer Location: Bangalore-Manyata Tech Park Business & Team: Retail Tech – Core Banking We are seeking experienced SAP Banking Services / TRBK systems engineers to join our squad to support and optimize SAP solutions that underpin critical banking operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of SAP Core Banking system. With close to 40% of Australia’s payments processed in this system, your impact here has significant impact and importance. Roles & Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day L2 operational and platform stability for SAP functionality across production and non-production environments. Monitor daily system functionality and performance, identify issues proactively, and coordinate timely incident detection and resolution. Perform and manage service restoration within SLA where service is broken for incidents of all categories. Partner with stakeholders to articulate and execute service restoration where it is broken, ensuring the best possible outcome that least impact customers and consumers negatively. Coordinate with infrastructure, security, and platform teams to maintain system availability, resilience, and performance. Support continuous improvement initiatives that increase and automate functional observability. Leverage and propose use of tools that bridge the gap between product teams and operational capabilities, enabling higher levels of self-service and manual touchpoints. Utilise AI capabilities to automate and supplement incident analysis and resolution. Maintain system documentation, operational procedures, knowledge articles, and support runbooks. Support change management activities including the running of manual activities and ensuring minimum standards are met. Technology Skills: Minimum of 4-8 years of experience (configuration, development or incident management) with SAP Finance products with a high favourability for SAP Banking Services and TRBK. Knowledge of SAP Banking Modules – Business Partner, Deposits Management, Master Contract Management, Loans Management and Payments. Strong understanding of incident and change management process in a large organisation or highly regulated industries such as banking, financial services, insurance or government. Knowledge of ITIL Service Management processes. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis Highly skilled stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to debug or low touch code in ABAP will be seen as highly desirable Any prior experience with AI tools to automate daily tasks will be seen as highly desirable. Education Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
