NewsNation - Associate Producer - Elizabeth Vargas Reports

NewsNation is looking for an Associate Producer to join the team of Elizabeth Vargas Reports. This role involves contributing story ideas, compiling elements, and assisting in building engaging live segments and packages based on a wide range of topics ranging from political news to domestic news to international news. The position is based at the network's offices in New York. Duties & Responsibilities: Pitches story ideas Research production topics using the Internet, video archives, and other information sources Gathers elements: video, stills, user generated content Makes graphics requests when needed Writes editorial copy Assist in preparing and executing live correspondent hits or guest's segments Perform other tasks as assigned by show leaders or news management Requirements & Skills: Experience in national or major-market television news preferred BA/BS degree or equivalent degree in journalism or related field Strong writing skills are required Ability to create dynamic graphic and video elements Must be self-directing, self-motivating and able to work will with a diverse group of people Interact well with on-air talent, news managers, videographers, production, digital and engineering staff Detail-oriented Excellent verbal, written, grammar and analytical skills Exhibit strong news judgment Handle stress, including short deadlines Work at a computer for extended periods of time Must be able to work assigned shifts and be on call during overnights, mornings and weekends/holidays Salary Range : $66,300 – $74,000 (commensurate with experience) Benefits : Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
