Job Description This Manager position will support the Regulatory and Risk Governance (RRG) team on corporate risk governance and regulatory risk matters in Brazil within the Latin America and the Caribbean Region (LAC). Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Regulatory and Risk Governance, this role serves as the architect of a scalable, AI-enabled governance capability that modernizes how risk is identified, measured, prioritized, reported, and acted upon across the enterprise and product portfolio. The Manager is responsible for building and operating a modern risk governance program that transforms governance from a primarily compliance-focused function into a fast, intelligent, and risk-based engine for the business. The role will leverage data, automation, analytics, and the responsible application of artificial intelligence to create a single authoritative view of risk, reduce operational friction, accelerate decision-making, and ensure governance operates at the speed and scale of the business. This manager will be responsible for implementing and monitoring compliance with governance requirements define by the Central Bank of Brazil applicable to any Visa subsidiary, especially in its role as Scheme Owner. This role partners closely with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Government Affairs, Product, Management, Finance, Internal Controls, and executive leadership to embed risk-based governance into how the organization plans, builds, and operates. This is a transformational role for a builder—someone who can challenge legacy governance, risk, and compliance models, simplify complexity, and deliver board-ready insights that clearly articulate business impact, financial exposure, and strategic trade-offs. The Manager will create a program that is defensible, measurable, portfolio-driven, and future-ready, enabling enterprise resilience, product innovation, regulatory confidence, and informed risk ownership. Responsibilities: Serve as a trusted risk business partner to business units and functional leaders, collaborating on product roadmaps, strategic initiatives, and market priorities to identify risk assessments, governance requirements, and supervisory considerations needed to support growth in Brazil. Build, operate, and continuously enhance a modern corporate and risk governance program for Brazil, integrating enterprise risk management, operational risk, internal controls, supervisory risk management, and regulatory support into a cohesive framework. Lead second line of defense oversight of corporate risk management programs and provide constructive challenge to strengthen control design, control effectiveness, and risk mitigation across key processes, products, and regulated activities. Design and implement scalable governance processes that identify, measure, prioritize, report, and escalate risks using data-driven methodologies, meaningful metrics, and portfolio-based views of exposure. Develop and maintain a single, authoritative view of risk by leveraging data, analytics, automation, and AI-enabled reporting solutions to improve transparency, decision-making, and accountability. Find opportunities to automate risk and regulatory reporting, improve self-service capabilities, and streamline workflows to increase quality, consistency, and timeliness of reporting and management information. Develop, deploy, and maintain reporting and analytical solutions that support executive reporting, committee materials, board-ready insights, and management dashboards related to risk governance, supervisory matters, and regulatory obligations. Manage the framework for identifying, monitoring, and responding to supervisory requirements, regulatory obligations, reporting commitments, inquiries, examinations, and audits involving Brazilian authorities and other relevant stakeholders. Ensure regulatory requests and supervisory matters are addressed in a timely, accurate, and consistent manner, with clear documentation, traceability, and defensible governance records. Maintain repositories of regulatory obligations, supervisory engagements, risk decisions, governance artifacts, and related documentation used to respond to regulatory inquiries, consultations, and internal governance needs. Support the implementation and maturation of local risk management and internal control frameworks to ensure compliance with applicable Brazilian regulatory requirements, while also identifying where stronger action is needed beyond minimum compliance standards to protect the business from financial, reputational, operational, or systemic risk. Partner with Legal, Compliance, Government Affairs, Finance, Internal Audit, Product, and business leadership to embed risk-based governance into planning, execution, change initiatives, and operating rhythms. Support license-related activities, regulatory change management, and supervisory engagement strategies, primarily related to risk governance needed to secure, maintain, or renew authorizations required to operate in Brazil. Lead or coordinate cross-functional programs and projects that strengthen governance capabilities, modernize risk processes, and improve oversight effectiveness across Brazil and the region. Drive process enhancement initiatives that simplify complexity, reduce manual effort, improve data quality, and increase the speed and scalability of governance activities. Use management information, metrics, and analysis to inform business decision-making, measure progress against goals, and clearly communicate business impact, financial exposure, and strategic trade-offs to senior management and governance forums. Support risk committees and governance forums by identifying key topics for escalation, preparing materials, and providing clear, decision-useful reporting to senior leadership. Prepare communications, presentations, training materials, and executive updates related to corporate risk governance, supervisory management, and regulatory developments in Brazil. Monitor regulatory, market, competitive, and technological developments affecting the payments ecosystem in Brazil and translate them into actionable governance and risk management implications for the business. Promote an AI-first mindset and responsible AI adoption within governance activities, including the use of intelligent tools to improve insights, trend analysis, reporting quality, early warning capabilities, and operational efficiency. Champion a strong risk culture by building awareness, accountability, and practical ownership of risk across stakeholders, while enabling the business to move faster with informed and appropriately governed decisions. In addition to the primary responsibilities, support broader RRG, corporate risk, and regulatory workstreams as needed. Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
