ABOUT THE ROLE FOX Corporation is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager, WebApps to lead our WebApps engineering team responsible for building high-quality, scalable, and reliable web applications. You will be responsible for building, mentoring, and scaling a high-performing team while driving technical excellence and delivering world-class digital experiences. Our WebApps team is responsible for developing and maintaining modern, high-performance applications that serve millions of users across FOX's digital platforms. Leveraging technologies such as TypeScript, React, Next.js, we build intuitive, responsive, and highly scalable applications that deliver exceptional customer experiences. The team is committed to engineering excellence, code quality, performance optimization, and continuous innovation. As an Engineering Manager – WebApps , you will lead and grow a high-performing engineering team, providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and driving the successful execution of product roadmaps. You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, QA, DevOps, Backend Engineering, and Architecture teams to deliver scalable, secure, and user-centric web applications while fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of WebApps engineers through coaching, feedback, and career development. Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the engineering team. Drive technical excellence by promoting engineering best practices, code quality, testing, performance optimization, and maintainability. Partner with senior engineers to improve application architecture, scalability, security, and accessibility. Lead technical design discussions and provide guidance on implementation approaches for complex engineering initiatives. Balance feature delivery with long-term platform scalability, maintainability, and technical debt reduction. Own the delivery of WebApps initiatives from planning through production releases while ensuring quality and predictability. Partner closely with Product Management, UX Design, Backend Engineering, QA, and DevOps teams to define scope, priorities, and delivery timelines. Ensure engineering teams follow Agile development methodologies and continuous delivery practices. Monitor delivery progress, proactively identify risks, and remove blockers impacting execution. Conduct regular code reviews and establish high engineering standards across the team. Drive engineering operational excellence through CI/CD automation, monitoring, observability, and production reliability. Mentor engineers in technical growth while supporting career progression and succession planning. Communicate project status, technical trade-offs, delivery risks, and engineering metrics to leadership and stakeholders. WHAT YOU WILL NEED Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 8+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years leading engineering teams delivering modern web applications. Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, Next.js, React, Tailwind, CSS3, and RESTful APIs. Experience designing and developing scalable, high-performance web applications. Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, reusable component design, and responsive UI development. Experience in using AWS services and modern CI/CD pipelines. Proven ability to manage engineering priorities, delivery commitments, and stakeholder expectations. Experience leading Agile software development teams using Scrum or Kanban methodologies. Strong knowledge of software design principles, testing strategies, code review practices, and engineering best practices. Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, and people management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a passion for building high-performing engineering teams. Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
