Summary Job Description: Patient Access Coordinator – Obgyn Baptist Health Medical Group LaGrange Area | Full-Time | First Shift Be the First Smile Our Patients See Do you enjoy helping others and creating exceptional first impressions? Baptist Health Medical Group is looking for a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Patient Access Coordinator to join our Primary Care team in the LaGrange area. As a Patient Access Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring patients have a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment they arrive or call our office. If you’re passionate about customer service, thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team, we’d love to meet you. What You’ll Do In this role, you will: Welcome patients and provide outstanding customer service in person and over the phone. Register patients accurately by collecting demographic, insurance, and visit information. Verify insurance eligibility, Medicare compliance, and patient benefits before appointments. Pre-register patients and discuss insurance benefits and financial responsibilities with confidence and compassion. Calculate patient responsibility estimates and collect point-of-service payments while explaining payment expectations and available payment options. Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed. Utilize patient access and registration software to support efficient office operations. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations related to patient access services. Complete ongoing education and training requirements. Support the team by performing additional administrative duties as needed. What We’re Looking For Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting. Knowledge of medical terminology. Strong computer and data entry skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
