Job Description: Broadcom is seeking a talented and passionate Field Applications Engineer to join the Sales team and support the world’s leading cloud service providers, OEMs, and Channel customers. This entails working with them to design solutions that use Broadcom PCIE based products. In this position, you will work directly with the customer to understand the requirements and propose Broadcom solutions. During the design process you will provide customer training on the necessary tools and design guidelines for a successful design. You will work directly with both the customer and the engineering support team to assist with any customer issues. You will also work customer requirements and advocate internally for product enhancements. Responsibilities: Work with both customers and Broadcom’s System Applications Engineers to analyze, debug, & root cause issues found within Broadcom’s PCIe switch and retimer products. Work with OEM and Cloud customers to properly integrate Broadcom’s PCIe switch and retimer products into GP-GPUs, AI/ML platforms, storage servers and custom designs. Help and guide customers through the design process including architecture reviews, schematic reviews, design-in support and training customers on product features. Establish firm relationships with the customers and internally to help advocate for new product features and expediting fixes for defects. Train customers in the tools, software, and applications needed to implement PCIe switch/retimer designs. Provide, as needed, on-site customer support to help with training and the debug of critical issues. Occasional travel expected. Requirements/Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering or related field of study. Master’s degree in engineering is preferred. Minimum of 8 years’ experience working with Cloud service providers and server OEM customers to design complex PCIe based products for Server, storage, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence applications. Hands-on, thorough knowledge of high-speed protocols like PCIe. Silicon bring-up and debug experience in customer systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to provide clear and condensed notes and actions. Customer-oriented, goal-driven, self-motivated, must be able to work independently. Capable of maintaining focus in an ever changing environment. Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate technical solutions to customers and internal teams Additional Job Description: Compensation And Benefits The On Target Earnings (OTE) range for this position is $140,600 - $225,000. OTE includes Sales Incentive Commission in accordance with relevant plan documents. This position is also eligible for equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
