Job Description: Broadcom is looking for a Software Systems (Development) Engineer (P4) to join VMware Cloud Foundation’s (VCF) AI and Advanced Services team. This position is key to building a best in class private cloud AI platform. You will have a high impact by playing a critical role designing and implementing scalable solutions along with a team of talented and enthusiastic engineers. This role will be a member of the Software Engineering team, which is a team building a set of Kubernetes based Platform Services: Model Gallery, Model Runtime and ML API Gateway, Data Indexing and Retrieval, and Agent Builder. The successful candidate must have experience building scalable software systems, and experience participating in upstream Kubernetes and related CNCF projects as a contributor is a major plus. The AI & Advanced Services team is responsible for building AI platform capabilities into the VMware Cloud Foundation product to enable our enterprise customers to have all of the AI platform features they need to build, deploy, test, manage, and scale their AI infrastructure and workloads. Responsibilities ● Ability to visualize and add active design/development in Control Plane/Data Plane components more specifically in the backend components. ● Participate in code reviews and ensure that the code is aligned with VMware's coding standards and best practices ● Decompose vague problems into detailed requirements, design, break into features and add active development/integrations then deliver that meet the needs of our customers ● Strong focus towards quality/automation in addition to feature development to ensure the quality and reliability of the feature set ● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver expanded capabilities of Kubernetes-based platform services for AI ● Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Private AI services and how those services interface with other components of the stack such as storage, networking, etc. Requirements ● B.E/B Tech Graduate in Computer Science or related technical fields with 10+ years of software industry experience, with a possible development focus on Control Plane, Data Plane, AI/ML, and with strong focus for quality of work. ● 5+ years design/development experience in scalable distributed systems and backend components. ● Experience in Go, C++, or systems level Python is a plus, or can demonstrate mastery of programming and willingness to learn new language ● 5+ years of strong working experience with Container technologies (Docker and Kubernetes) ● Hands on development experience towards Kubernetes Controllers/Operators is a big plus (not just deployment) ● Proven knowledge of systems design ● Strong analytical and diagnostic skills with ability to work independently ● Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams ● Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git ● Ability to work full time out of an office from Bangalore South. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
