Overview: The Data Foundation and Modernization Department accelerates AI and data capabilities and is responsible to modernize data foundations with scalable frameworks that reduce costs and accelerate access to trusted data. As an AI Engineer on this team, you will partner with AI and Machine Learning Engineers across the company to deliver accelerators that empower teams to deliver enterprise scale AI and machine learning capabilities. You will set the standards and define the future of AI at Chevron. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: Design and develop AI and Machine Learning solutions. Design and develop agentic solutions leveraging Microsoft Foundry and Azure Cognitive Services. Develop software solutions using Python and/or Typescript and/or C#. Design and implement AI plugins, skills, and MCP servers Orchestrate large-scale data processing and distributed model training workloads. Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to identify AI opportunities. Lead cross-functional initiatives and work with product managers to define requirements. Apply software engineering best practices including testing, source control, architecture reviews, and CI/CD. Required Qualifications: Experience designing, developing, and deploying software solutions (Python preferred). Experience building AI-enabled applications using machine learning and/or generative AI technologies. Experience with agentic AI frameworks, AI orchestration platforms, or related AI development patterns. Experience developing cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure services. Demonstrated software engineering practices including source control, testing, code reviews, and CI/CD. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams. Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn and apply new technologies, frameworks, and approaches in a fast-evolving AI landscape. Relocation Options: Relocation will not be considered.
