Job Summary: Caterpillar’s Integrated Drivetrain Energy Solutions division is seeking a Senior Electrification Systems Engineer to coordinate high-voltage system analysis capability across electrification programs. This role is responsible for collaborating with a global engineering team delivering high voltage system analysis, including cable sizing, fuse coordination, incident energy calculations, and power flow studies. The position combines deep technical expertise with leadership of a globally distributed team to ensure high-quality, consistent, and scalable system analysis supporting electrified product development. What You Will Do: Lead execution and quality of HV system analysis including cable sizing, fuse coordination, incident energy calculations, and power flow analysis Establish and standardize modeling practices and data quality requirements Serve as the technical subject matter expert for HV system analysis Drive continuous improvement of analysis methods and modeling capability Ensure alignment between analysis outputs and system design decisions Lead and coordinate a globally distributed team executing HV analysis activities Set priorities, allocate resources, and manage workload forecasting Establish governance routines for execution discipline Develop team capability through mentoring and coaching Drive accountability for quality and timeliness of deliverables Keep up-to-date on new technologies and drive continuous improvement to established techniques What You Will Have: Degree Requirement : Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Process Management: Extensive experience and knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes. Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Extensive experience and understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision. Analytical Thinking: Extensive experience and knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. Effective Communications : Working knowledge and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Problem Solving: Extensive experience and knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations Technical Excellence: Working knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
