What you will have an opportunity to do: The Sales Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and growing revenue from local negotiated accounts and group opportunities with peak room night demand under 35 rooms. This position is deployed to proactively source, solicit, qualify, and close business from assigned local corporate, association, social, sports, government, and other market segments that align with Naples Grande Beach Resort’s revenue strategy. The Sales Manager serves as a key member of the resort sales team, partnering with Revenue Management, Conference Services, Catering, Marketing, and Operations to convert profitable business, maintain account relationships, and support overall occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and ancillary revenue goals. Essential Functions Account Management & Business Development · Develop and manage assigned local negotiated accounts and small group business opportunities under 35 rooms peak. · Prospect, solicit, and qualify new local business through outside sales calls, site inspections, networking, referrals, and digital lead channels. · Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to grow repeat production and uncover incremental opportunities. · Build and maintain an active sales pipeline aligned with monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals. Local Negotiated Accounts · Solicit and manage local corporate negotiated rate accounts that support transient room night production. · Conduct account reviews, rate negotiations, and production analysis to maximize account value. · Partner with Revenue Management to ensure negotiated rates are positioned appropriately based on demand, seasonality, and account potential. · Maintain accurate account profiles, contact records, activities, and production data in the sales system. Small Group Sales · Handle group leads with peak room night demand under 35 rooms, including corporate meetings, social groups, reunions, sports teams, government, and other qualified segments. · Respond to inquiries, prepare proposals, conduct follow-up, negotiate terms, and close agreements in accordance with resort sales standards. · Understand client needs and position resort accommodations, meeting space, catering, spa, recreation, and resort amenities to drive total revenue. · Ensure all turned-over business is fully documented and communicated to Conference Services, Catering, Reservations, and Operations teams. Sales Activities & Pipeline Management · Execute a disciplined sales cadence including prospecting, appointment setting, outside sales calls, site inspections, client entertainment, and follow-up activities. · Use CRM and sales productivity tools to track leads, definite bookings, tentative business, lost business, and account activity. · Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all client interactions, proposals, contracts, traces, and next steps. · Participate in sales meetings, revenue strategy discussions, and business review meetings as required. Client Experience & Site Inspections · Conduct professional site inspections that showcase the resort’s guestrooms, meeting space, outlets, amenities, service culture, and overall guest experience. · Customize proposals and presentations to match client objectives, program needs, and budget considerations. · Ensure a smooth client handoff after booking and remain engaged as needed to support repeat business and client satisfaction. Commercial Collaboration · Partner with Revenue Management to evaluate pricing, availability, need periods, and displacement considerations for assigned business. · Collaborate with Marketing on targeted campaigns, local account outreach, and promotional opportunities. · Work closely with Catering, Conference Services, Reservations, and Operations to ensure booked business is executable and profitable. Revenue Accountability · Achieve assigned room revenue, room night, activity, and production goals for local negotiated account and small group segments. · Monitor booking pace, lead conversion, lost business trends, and account production to identify opportunities and risks. · Contribute to the resort’s overall sales culture through accountability, responsiveness, professionalism, and consistent follow-through. Reporting & Analytics · Prepare and maintain accurate sales reports, activity summaries, account reviews, and pipeline updates. · Analyze account production, lead sources, conversion rates, and market trends to support sales strategy. · Provide timely updates to sales leadership on performance, opportunities, challenges, and recommended actions What are we looking for? Education Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred. Equivalent hospitality sales experience may be considered. Experience Minimum 2 to 4 years of hotel or resort sales experience preferred, with demonstrated success managing local accounts, negotiated rates, and small group opportunities. Luxury, resort, or full-service hotel experience strongly preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong prospecting, negotiation, relationship-building, and closing skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with CRM systems, sales reporting tools, Microsoft Office, and hospitality sales platforms. Ability to manage multiple leads and deadlines in a fast-paced resort environment. Strong business acumen and understanding of hotel revenue drivers including occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and total resort revenue.
