About the Position The Associate Designer is responsible for a variable amount of design, development and selection of materials, silhouettes, colors and patterns for the Jackets category. Will assist in fabric research, development and fabricates basic core items seeing Jacket and Outerwear garments through to production. The impact you can have Serve as liaison between Design, Product Development, Technical Design and Merchandising to ensure information flow is accurate throughout the development process Manage technical package process, to include drawings, measurements and design detail specifications, as well as hand-off to Product Development Creating new sketches and sketch updates using adobe illustrator and hand sketching Maintain thorough knowledge of the line (silhouettes, yarns/fabrics and design details) and responsible for tracking changes/additions Participate in concept review and line building recaps, in addition to line review Coordinate all changes from Line Review and communicate to cross-functional teams at Line Review recap Identifying seasonal fashion direction, assortment opportunities and merchandise trends for area of responsibility Design Presentation Boards; Research competitive market and present results and deductions to Designer You’ll bring to the role 2-3 years’ experience in Fashion Design BA, Associates degree, or equivalent in Design Strong fashion, color and print sense Strong communication and presentation skills Highly organized with capacity to anticipate change Knowledge of design specifications (ex. draping, pattern-making and CAD software) Proficient in Photoshop, Excel and Illustrator Benefits at KnitWell Group Merchandise discount at our brands: 50% off regular-priced merchandise at Ann Taylor, LOFT, Lane Bryant, Talbots and Haven Well Within (in store and online) Support for your individual development plus career mobility within our family of brands A culture of giving back – local volunteer opportunities, annual donation and volunteer match to eligible nonprofit organizations, and philanthropic activities to support our communities* Medical, dental, vision insurance & 401(K) retirement* Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Time off – paid time off & holidays* The target salary range for this role is: $65,000-$68,000 *Any job offer will consider factors such your qualifications, relevant experience, and skills.
