Overview: Tuesday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm and Saturdays 8:00am-4:30pm Job Description Summary: Collects, processes, and stores biological specimens for laboratory testing and research purposes. Does not perform hypothesis-based research or analysis on the biospecimens – serves as a supporting role to facilitate research. Job Description: Essential Functions: Collects, processes, and stores biological specimens according to established protocols and standard operating procedures. Maintains accurate records of specimen collection, processing, and storage. Ensures that specimens are properly labeled and tracked throughout the collection and storage process. Performs quality control checks on specimens to ensure that they meet established standards. Maintains laboratory equipment and supplies, and orders new supplies as needed. Communicates with other laboratory staff and researchers to ensure that specimens are collected and processed in a timely and efficient manner. Education Requirement: Bachelor's of Science or equivalent certification and experience, required. Coursework in anatomy, physiology, statistics, and relevant research methods, preferred. Licensure Requirement: (not specified) Certifications: (not specified) Skills: Organizational skills, attention to detail, and computer experience. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to change manner of communication styles to adapt to various cultural and work-style differences.
