Job Title : Sr. Engineer Reporting To: Head, CA Design Work Schedule: Onsite – Bangalore, IN Job Summary Moog is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr Design Engineer Flight Control Actuation Design team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in actuation components design for airworthy applications. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of advanced flight control actuation products for aerospace applications while collaborating with global stakeholders and customers. Key Responsibilities: Technical: - Demonstrated abilities to transform specifications into airworthy products involving mechanical, electromechanical and hydromechanical disciplines. - Conceptualizes designs and performs detailed design of parts and assemblies for Primaries and High lift flight Actuation systems. - Implements optimum machining aspects in design for the parts made from machining, casting, forging processes, and additive methods. - Possess fair knowledge of aerospace materials, heat treatment processes, surface treatment processes and preferred manufacturing methods for airworthy parts. - Performs Tolerance layout and Tolerance stack-up considering product functionalities, materials, heat treatment and surface treatment processes. - Produces engineering items, such as, 3D models, 2-D Drawings, documents, reports, presentation slides, etc. - Advises dispositions and takes appropriate decisions on non-conforming products. - Implement optimum design schemes to achieve adequate design margins, optimized weight and envelope efficient design. - Possesses knowledge of Primaries and Highlift Actuation system; and applicability of RTCA DO160 requirements. This is to enable creating appropriate V&V plan for the system and units. - Supports Participate in customer engagements on technical proposals, including Requests Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP) activities. - Drive automation initiatives to improve productivity and efficiency within design engineering processes. - Ensure quality, technical excellence, and on-time delivery of engineering deliverables. - Support continuous improvement and departmental initiatives. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering functions and global locations. Desired traits and soft skills: - Exposure to Design robustness check using the DFSS tools (RSS/Monte Carlo Analysis, DOE, etc.) will be an added advantage. - Abilities to perform DFMEA, DFMA, CIs and KCs assessments will be an added advantage. - Exposure to requirements management using DOORS will be added advantage. - Exposure to performance analysis and modelling using MATLAB-Simulink will be added advantage. - Working experience in full development life cycle for Aerospace products. - Communicates with clarity in oral and written communications in a global setup. - Flexibility to adopt the company culture. - Has inclination towards Systematic Approach and Team player. Qualifications: Graduate (Mechanical Engineering) or Postgraduate (Machine Design or equivalent) Work Experience (Years): 8-10 years Relevant Certifications: Nothing specific Location: Moog India Technology Center, Bangalore Travel Requirement: As needed by the Company
