Salesforce Data Architect1 Role Summary Owns the enterprise data strategy across the Salesforce platform — data modeling, quality, governance, migration, and lifecycle management — ensuring scalability, performance, and compliance across clouds (Sales, ARM, Service, Experience, etc.). Key Responsibilities Design scalable, normalized/denormalized data models aligned to business processes and Salesforce best practices (object relationships, sharing model, large data volume handling) Define data governance standards: data quality, deduplication, master data management (MDM), and data lifecycle/archiving policies Lead data migration strategy for legacy-to-Salesforce or cross-org migrations (ETL design, mapping, reconciliation, cutover planning) Architect solutions for Large Data Volumes (LDV) — indexing, skinny tables, selective queries, partitioning strategies Define integration data contracts in partnership with Integration/MuleSoft Architects (canonical data models, data synchronization patterns) Establish data security architecture: field-level security, sharing rules, encryption (Shield), and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.) Guide backup/recovery and disaster recovery strategy for Salesforce data Conduct data audits and health checks; recommend remediation for technical debt Mentor developers/admins on data modeling best practices; review data architecture deliverables Required Skills & Experience 15+ years in data architecture, with 5+ years focused on Salesforce Deep expertise in Salesforce data model, SOQL/SOSL optimization, Big Objects, External Objects Hands-on with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, Data Loader, MuleSoft, Boomi) Strong understanding of relational databases, data warehousing concepts, and MDM principles Experience with LDV strategies and performance tuning Familiarity with data privacy regulations and Salesforce Shield Preferred Experience with Data Cloud (CDP), Snowflake, or other data platforms integrated with Salesforce Exposure to multi-cloud/multi-org Salesforce landscapes Certifications Salesforce Certified Data Architect (Sharing and Visibility, Data Architecture and Management) Salesforce Application Architect or System Architect (preferred)
