Why does this job exist and why is it critical? What are you accountable for? Hybrid Cloud Platform Orchestration : Accountable for the seamless provisioning, integration and management of on-premises private cloud and public cloud infrastructure, ensuring unified operations across both environments. Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) Standardization : Lead the development and maintenance of standardized IaC scripts (Terraform, Ansible) to automate the provisioning of compute, storage, backup and networking assets. Platform Connectivity & Networking : Own the configuration and stability of hybrid connectivity (e.g., VPNs, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute/Interconnect), including IP addressing, DNS, NTP, and load balancing across the hybrid environments. DevOps for Infrastructure : Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines specifically for infrastructure deployment, ensuring complying to Maxis security controls and governance policies. Mission-Critical Availability : Accountable for the 24/7 uptime of the underlying infrastructure platforms, performing deep-level troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on hardware virtualization, OS, and cloud service failures. Container Platform Management : Oversee the infrastructure layer for container orchestration (Kubernetes/Docker), focusing on cluster health, node provisioning, and persistent storage. Technical Advisory for Infrastructure: Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assist application teams in "landing" their projects on the hybrid platform, ensuring their resource requirements align with infrastructure capacity and architecture. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one.
