Graduate Geologist - Geoscience (Feb 2027 Program) The Role As a Graduate at SMEC, you’ll be part of a high-impact talent group, contributing to the delivery of major infrastructure projects alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists. Our two-year Graduate Development Program (GDP) is designed to accelerate your growth — combining hands-on project experience with structured learning, mentoring, and exposure across teams and disciplines. Once completed, successful Graduates move along our Career Pathways, transitioning to their Professional title (either ‘Graduate’ or ‘Scientist’ depending on the technical discipline) and then onwards. Growth is a balanced blend of experience, tenure, development, goals and desired trajectory. What you can expect: Real project exposure from day one across major infrastructure projects A connected ANZ graduate network and strong peer community Mentoring from senior engineers and technical specialists Structured development through workshops, online learning, and immersive experiences Opportunities to build consulting skills including communication, collaboration, and problem-solving Industry and global networking opportunities across the SJ Group Ongoing development beyond the GDP, with support for further study Key Responsibilities You’ll support the delivery of engineering geological projects from day one—contributing to fieldwork, interpretation, analysis and technical reporting while learning from experienced engineering geologists and gaining exposure to real-world project delivery. Contribute to the delivery of geology and engineering projects by supporting field investigations, data collection and interpretation Participate in site visits and fieldwork to develop an understanding of ground conditions and geological risks- including activities such as geological mapping and logging Assist in interpretation of site data to develop ground models and inform geotechnical design as well as project outcomes Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate geological inputs and support project delivery Learn and apply industry standards, tools and best practice through structured development and on-the-job experience About You You’re a motivated Geology or Geoscience graduate who enjoys problem-solving, working in teams, and contributing to real-world infrastructure and environmental projects. You will bring: A degree in Geology, Geoscience or a related discipline Strong communication and teamwork skills A proactive and adaptable mindset, with a willingness to learn and take initiative Exposure to GIS, geological modelling software (e.g. Leapfrog), or field data collection techniques (advantageous) #LI-DNI At Surbana Jurong, we put talent, hard work, teamwork and a fun workplace together to approach problems and solve them creatively and collaboratively.
