Summary of Role: Our Fab 8 team is seeking entry-level Process Engineers for our Malta, NY location. The individual selected for this position will be part of the Engineering organization with primary responsibilities focused on support and continuous improvement of semiconductor equipment and processes. Essential Responsibilities include: Support process transfer, equipment planning, selection, configuration, installation, startup, and volume ramp for the relevant process. Establish and document the process engineering business processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) necessary to run tools in production. Create training materials and provide training for shift technicians. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and equipment suppliers to support timely ramp-up plans. Collaborate with Process Integration, Manufacturing, Technology Development, and vendors/suppliers. After equipment startup and ramp, support daily sustaining activities, performance tracking, equipment matching, and continuous improvement. Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC), structured problem-solving skills, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) methods. Other Responsibilities: Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. Required Qualifications: Education – Graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or related field from an accredited degree program. Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing. Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal) Preferred Qualifications: Prior related internship or co-op experience Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc. Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
