Job Description Work Classification: Hybrid: This role is classified as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to the Milford, Michigan, location at least three days per week. The Role: The Low Voltage Infrastructure Team, within the Embedded Platform Systems & Infrastructure organization, develops systems, software, and controls for on-vehicle low-voltage power generation, energy storage, power management, power distribution, and consumption control. This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly formed team as we advance the next generation of low-voltage power architectures and consumption-control strategies for SDV 2.0. As a Controller Integration Engineer, you will integrate and test control-software releases on bench and vehicle assets. You will provide system-level expertise to verify software operation across multiple controllers, troubleshoot bench- and vehicle-level issues, and develop recommended solutions. What You'll Do: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and document thorough, efficient test scenarios. Verify software functionality on bench and vehicle assets using advanced testing methods and tools, delivering on time and with the quality needed to meet program milestones. Troubleshoot, identify, and root-cause issues involving system features, controller hardware, software, calibrations, and other components that prevent systems from meeting design intent. This may include development activities, build events, buyoff rides, test trips, and general fleet usage. Work with and support technical specialists to resolve challenging system-interaction issues. Develop robust methods, techniques, and technologies to predict, prevent, and resolve integration issues. Develop experimental software for proposed changes and perform integration testing with minimal direction from lead engineers. Analyze software defects, determine root cause, develop software solutions, test and verify fixes, and drive issues to closure. Conduct and participate in work-product reviews for algorithms, software, and specifications, incorporating I/O functional requirements and test cases. Provide documented examples of process, tool, and other improvements to standard work. Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams in the United States, Canada, and India to meet project deliverables. Manage and lead multiple projects and assignments with a high level of autonomy and accountability for results. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications): Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. At least 5+ years of professional experience in software integration, CI/CD, and/or DevOps, including experience with tooling, infrastructure solutions, and automated testing. Experience with software development and testing, instrumentation and benches such as dSPACE, Simulink, Stateflow, ETAS INCA, and Vehicle Spy. Knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, assembly, Perl, or Java. Familiarity with microprocessor and microcontroller design and theory. Ability to independently investigate issues using limited information and demonstrate a high level of analytical ability when resolving complex problems. Proven leadership capabilities and a track record of driving results, demonstrating initiative, and maintaining strong ownership and accountability. Highly motivated, tenacious, and curious, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement. Creative and disciplined, with a strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and commitment to on-time delivery. Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams. What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 8+ years of professional experience in software integration, CI/CD, and/or DevOps, including experience with tooling, infrastructure solutions, and automated testing. Experience working in an Agile framework. Experience with automotive communication protocols, including Ethernet, CAN, and LIN. Project management skills, including the ability to plan and prioritize work to deliver required objectives on time and with quality. This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week {or other frequency dictated by their manager}. This job may be eligible for relocation benefits. 144,883 engineer jobs are open right now

Here's how to pick the right one and stand out in your application.

144.883Jobs

That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
