Quality Assurance: Ensure the delivery of high-quality, maintainable code through diligent code reviews, automated unit testing, and the creation of acceptance tests for new features. Operational Excellence: Own the maintenance and operation of services your team is responsible for. Monitor system performance using metrics and logs, and actively participate in root cause analysis for production incidents to increase system resilience. Collaboration: Collaborate with Product Managers and other engineers to refine requirements, break down epics into manageable tasks, and proactively identify and resolve conflicts between stated requirements and technical implementation. Continuous Improvement: Participate in and contribute to internal communities, share knowledge across the team, and help improve our documentation and developer experience through automation. WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF Technical Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience in ABAP development (OO ABAP, RAP). Familiarity with SAPUI5/Fiori Elements is essential. Experience: 4+ years of relevant professional experience developing SAP applications. BTP Knowledge: Solid understanding of SAP BTP services and cloud-native development practices (e.g., Destination Service, XSUAA, Cloud Logging). Problem Solving: Proven ability to investigate system interactions, identify gaps in requirements, and suggest alternate, scalable solutions. Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and work constructively in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Mindset: A proactive approach to learning; comfortable applying feedback to iterate on solutions and eager to expand your technology toolkit. Clean Core: Knowledge of SAP's newest "clean core" development principles. Preferred Qualifications Experience with SAP Integration Suite. Interest in exploring Business AI capabilities, such as Joule integrations, for process automation. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development tools like SAP Business Application Studio (BAS) or GitHub. A strong desire to contribute to engineering standards and technical documentation. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
