Role reports to: LIDER SUPORTE A OPER Location: Latin America, Colombia, Valle del Cauca, Cali Work Location: Hybrid What you will do The TechOps Packaging Engineer leads the development, qualification, and optimization of tertiary packaging solutions for new product launches, packaging innovation, and cost improvement initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for managing packaging projects from concept through commercialization, ensuring packaging performance, manufacturability, quality, sustainability, and compliance requirements are met. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, R&D, and Global Packaging. Key Responsibilities Lead tertiary packaging development for NPD, NPI, and cost-saving projects. Define and execute packaging development and qualification plans. Conduct line trials, process validation, and end-to-end packaging line qualification. Develop packaging specifications, technical documentation, and master data records. Drive packaging performance, OEE optimization, and troubleshooting activities. Evaluate innovative packaging technologies and sustainable solutions. What we are looking for Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Engineering, or a related scientific field. 3+ years of experience in Packaging Engineering within Consumer Health, Cosmetics, Personal Care, Food, OTC, or related industries. Experience with packaging development, line trials, process validation, and manufacturing support. Knowledge of tool and processes used in manufacturing, e.g. FMEA, Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis, GMP, and Quality Systems. Strong project management, communication, and technical documentation skills. Fluent English (written and spoken). Desired Qualifications Strong technical and problem-solving skills. Ability to influence and collaborate across functions and organizational levels. Proactive, hands-on, and results-oriented mindset. Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
