About Ameren Illinois Ameren Illinois provides electric transmission and distribution service and natural gas distribution service. Every day, we deliver electricity to 1.2 million electric and 816,000 natural gas customers in central and southern Illinois. We deliver safe, reliable energy to more than 1,200 communities. Ameren Illinois is looking for an Engineering Representative Step 1 who will be responsible for the following: Position Description Complete the Engineering Representative Training Program, which includes three gas and electric classroom modules. The employee must successfully pass weekly tests and two final exams with a minimum average score of 70%. Upon completion, the employee should be able to confidently advise customers on proper electric, gas, and lighting policies. Handle incoming and outgoing customer calls and email correspondence to gather details for customer-requested projects. Use training and company computer systems to initiate, engineer, and complete standard design customer requests, ensuring adequate electric, natural gas, and lighting service is provided. Assist with the initiation of non-standard customer projects by asking appropriate questions and entering clear, concise notes to support other departments in meeting with customers and completing the engineering and design work. Participate in quality monitoring and coaching sessions to ensure all customer interactions (calls and emails) meet company standards. Maintain positive and productive relationships with customers and colleagues across departments, with a primary focus on customer satisfaction. Support team members as needed by assisting with departmental workload. Help train new employees on job responsibilities and computer systems. Position Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of high school algebra or above with a grade of "C" or above required. Satisfactory completion of courses with a grade C or better in D.C. and A.C. electricity or the equivalent from an accredited university, college or junior college required. 1 year experience working with electricity may be considered in lieu of D.C. & A.C. course. *If selected, applicants will be asked to provide high school and/or college or junior college transcripts. Hourly Pay: Step 1 - 31.11 USD Step 1 (b) - 32.11 USD Step 2 - 33.11 USD Step 2 (b) - 34.16 USD Step 3 - 35.21 USD Step 4 - 37.24 USD Step 5 - 39.26 USD **Please note that the starting hourly pay for this position is at the Step 1 level displayed above and below. Pay progression is outlined above.
