Note: Internal job title is Engineer II What You Will Do: Conduct risk assessments to support risk-informed decision-making. Use fit-for-purpose methods to identify and evaluate operational risks. These include health and safety, operations, environment, reputation, and financial aspects. Support collaborator requests, including problem definition, data collection, application of assessment techniques, and clear communication of results. Collaborate with senior team members on continuous improvements of assessment tools and develop new techniques through researching relevant literature, performing feasibility studies, and building business cases for improvement ideas. Communicate technical results effectively to department leadership and team members through presentations and written reports. Develop and maintain processes, procedures, and work instructions, and contribute to value assessments for major investments through risk and benefit analysis. Who You Are: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university or Bachelors degree in Engineering from a non accredited college or university with one or more of the following: Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam; Engineer in Training (EIT) certification; and/or Professional Engineer (PE) License. International engineering degrees must be recognized as equivalent to a U.S bachelors degree in engineering 2–4 years of relevant engineering experience. Highly numerate, logical, and self-motivated with strong attention to detail. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to prioritize competing demands and compile technical reports. Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to): Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time. Mental Requirements (Both field & office) include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone. Working Conditions: Office environment with limited travel (~90% office/~10% travel). A valid driver's license, ability to travel within the state, and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required which will be verified before hire. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
