Job Summary Responsible for leading the mechanical engineering scope of the Power Uprate projects. Job Description Key Accountabilities Lead mechanical engineering scope for multi-billion-dollar EPU projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence. Direct and review mechanical system designs, ensuring compliance with ASME, NRC, and fleet standards. Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, and site engineering to ensure system compatibility and constructability. Support Owner’s Engineer and independent third-party reviews, validating design quality and operational readiness. Provide technical leadership in resolving mechanical design issues to maintain outage and project milestones. Ensure mechanical modifications support long-term operability, maintainability, and integration into plant systems. Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required); Mechanical preferred 10+ years of nuclear engineering experience, with 5+ years in mechanical systems design, modification, or major projects. Direct experience with Extended Power Uprates, large-scale plant modifications, or equivalent projects. Strong knowledge of NRC, INPO, ASME, and ANSI codes and standards. Demonstrated ability to lead discipline-specific teams and interface with EPCs, OEMs, and site staff. Experience supporting regulatory submittals and responding to NRC/INPO questions preferred. Key Metrics On-time delivery of mechanical engineering milestones. Compliance with NRC, INPO, and ASME standards. Minimal corrective actions from reviews or audits. Strong coordination with EPCs, OEMs, and site engineering. Mechanical systems integrated successfully into plant operations with proven reliability. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
