Join FSC Range and gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers on real infrastructure projects. As an Engineering Intern, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the planning, design and delivery of engineering solutions across a range our coastal, maritime, structures and civil teams. Working within a collaborative team, you'll gain exposure to industry leading projects while developing practical technical and professional skills. This paid internship runs from December 2026 to February 2027 and is designed to provide meaningful, real-world experience and help prepare you for a successful career in engineering. Requirements About the Role: As an Engineering Intern, you will: Work under the supervision of experienced engineers across our coastal, maritime, structures and civil teams. Support the preparation of engineering calculations, technical documentation, and project deliverables on engineering projects across Australia. Undertake research, data analysis, and technical investigations to support project delivery. Gain exposure to a variety of infrastructure projects and develop a strong understanding of engineering design principles. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to solving real engineering challenges. Learn and apply engineering principles, Australian Standards and industry best practice. Develop your technical and professional skills through mentoring and hands-on project experience. About You: You will be a motivated and enthusiastic Civil, Structural or related Engineering student currently in your penultimate or final year of study. You will have: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; A deep care for those you work with; A strong analytical mind; Attention to detail with a systems and governance mindset; Willingness to learn and develop your technical and professional skills; Enjoy being creative and thinking of new ways of doing things; Exposure to engineering software relevant to your discipline (e.g. AutoCAD, SpaceGass, MATLAB, Python, QGIS or similar); and Understanding of engineering fundamentals gained through university coursework. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
