About the role We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help shape and scale the foundations of our modern data platform. In this role, you will work at the core of our data ecosystem, enabling reliable, high-quality data flows that power analytics, reporting, and business decision-making across the company. You will play a key role in evolving our data architecture, improving platform reliability and scalability, and collaborating closely with Analytics Engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to build efficient, well-structured data solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining hands-on engineering with ownership, technical leadership, and continuous improvement within a modern cloud data environment. Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain production-grade ELT pipelines from our PostgreSQL production DB and third-party sources into Snowflake, ensuring reliable, timely data delivery to support all downstream analytics and reporting Lead the design and implementation of a Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) in Snowflake, establishing clear layer definitions, ingestion standards, and handoff protocols with the Analytics Engineer Lead the migration from dbt Core to dbt Cloud, including project restructuring, scheduling setup, CI/CD pipeline configuration, and environment management Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting at the ingestion layer — ensuring pipeline stability and proactive issue detection before downstream impact Define and enforce data contracts with upstream Engineering teams; manage Snowflake environment including roles, permissions, warehouse sizing, and cost optimisation Design and implement reverse ETL flows to push enriched data back into third-party tools (e.g. HubSpot); document pipelines and ingestion logic to reduce key-person risk Requirements 6+ years in data engineering, with strong hands-on Snowflake and Python skills Hands-on experience with dbt Core and/or dbt Cloud Proven track record building and maintaining production-grade ELT pipelines from multiple source types (databases, APIs, third-party SaaS tools) Familiarity with data ingestion tools (e.g. Fivetran, Airbyte, or similar) Strong SQL skills and experience working with layered data architectures (e.g. Bronze/Silver/Gold) Proven ability to implement data quality frameworks and pipeline monitoring and alerting Comfortable with version control (Git/GitLab/Bitbucket) and collaborative development workflows Experience managing cloud data warehouse environments (access control, cost optimisation, performance tuning) High ownership mentality; takes end-to-end responsibility for what they build Collaborative, proactive and solution-oriented. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.

Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
