Peregrine Advisors is a firm founded on a simple conviction: the best solutions come from the people closest to the problem, given real ownership and the tools to deliver. We are a data and technology innovation hub and a Benefit Corporation working at the center of the federal government's mission to deliver for client stakeholders and the US public, looking for highly motivated contributors who thrive when trusted to own a hard problem and equipped to deliver the solution. Your first assignment Your first assignment will likely have you taking user stories from refinement all the way to production by: building serverless, event-driven application workflows, cloud-native on AWS, with Lambda and Step Functions; connecting commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products into the larger system frameworks developed in-house; building API connections, whether internal or external, that support modern system architectures; or creating data and document pipelines that make automatic what used to be manual and paper-heavy. Adaptability and a demonstrated capacity to learn new concepts, systems, and tools are what keep you ahead of program needs as projects complete and priorities shift. The work is real, hard, and it matters. It is also where you start, not the shape of your career here: we hire people, not seats, and we move our best to where the hardest problems are. What you'll build Cloud-native, modern systems whose streamlined, automated operation creates exceptional business value. Tested, working code you own all the way to production, including the defects you uncover and correct along the way. Automation that retires manual process, the validations, checks, and workflows that once lived in somebody's spreadsheet. Routine deployments, with services shipped through pipelines instead of through events. AI-assisted development as the default way of working, with tools like Amazon Q Developer across the entire lifecycle. And over time, the firm itself, through the new capabilities, tools, and lines of business you help launch. Who you are You care about what you build and judge it by whether it works for the people who rely on it. As priorities move, you move with them, treating each new tool and domain as an opportunity to improve your craft. You communicate clearly, adapt across roles and clients, and care about creating public value. You experiment, fail, learn, and repeat quickly. You would rather own an outcome than be handed a task. What you bring A practical command of modern cloud development, with the range to build something new or make an existing system work better. The matching delivery habits, meaning version control, unit and integration testing, code review, secure coding, and accessibility. Plain-language communication about your work with the people who depend on it, explaining clearly and listening for what they need. The precision to work where accuracy and auditability are not optional. What you'll need Sole United States citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust determination are required for this initial engagement. This is a hybrid role based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and it requires commuting into DC regularly. Everything else, the years, the certifications, the specific tools, we ask in the application and get into during the interview. What we offer A high-performing team of developers, engineers, data scientists, architects, and strategists solving complex, real-world problems, with work that runs from strategy formulation to hands-on implementation. We develop people across roles and clients, with extensive onboarding and sponsored training and professional development. And Peregrine has been a Benefit Corporation from day one: public value is built into the work itself, not bolted on afterward. Work worth your best years. What we commit to As a Benefit Corporation, our commitment runs three ways: real, measurable value for our clients; government that works better for the public; and a team that makes everyone in it better. We hire people who want to help build the firm, not just work at it. If that is you, apply. Peregrine Advisors is an equal opportunity employer. Peregrine exclusively works with OPEN Data Jobs to recruit our team. Register with OPEN Data Jobs to be considered for this opening and future roles. Requirements 4+ years of software development experience Bachelor's degree Working-level command of Python Experience with modern languages and frameworks, and with version control Familiarity with cloud development on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) concepts Ability to turn a defined specification into working, tested code and own it through to production Basic proficiency in writing, PowerPoint, and Excel Preferred Amazon Web Services exposure or certification Federal information technology experience Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tooling Benefits Medical, dental, and vision with the employee premium fully paid and half of dependent premiums; employer-paid life, accidental death, and short-term and long-term disability insurance; a 401(k) matched 100% up to 4% of salary, vesting immediately; unlimited paid time off; and sponsored professional certifications and continuing education.

That number includes positions in India (9,577), Poland (3,429), the United States (1,753), Singapore (787), and Brazil (779). If you're looking to move or work remotely, check which countries match your goals — then filter WorkMundi by location to see what's actually hiring near you.

Most developer ads you'll see are written in English: 18,397 of the 24,795. That doesn't tell you whether the job itself requires you to speak English or work in English daily, so read each posting carefully. Don't assume the language of the ad matches the language of the team.

The employers posting the most developer roles are Link Group (369 jobs), Upvanta (257), jobgether (226), and OfferZen (212). If you're applying to any of these, research their hiring patterns. They move fast and post often, which means they're either scaling hard or replacing people who didn't fit.

In your interview, expect this: 'Walk me through the last time you had to debug something that took you more than an hour. What was it, what did you try first, and what would you do differently?' Hiring managers ask this to see if you think systematically or just try random fixes. Have a real example ready with specifics.
